Meals on Wheels for Santa Cruz County – a Community Bridges program

Meals on Wheels has temporarily shut down its five congregate dining sites across the county. All seniors previously receiving meals at dining sites have been given the option for home-delivered meals.

The inability to gather for dining site meals has been a significant loss for those who are experiencing homelessness and rely on our meals and services. Meals on Wheels staff are taking box lunches out in the community to make every effort to locate and provide food to homeless seniors who previously attended the dining sites.

Applications for home-delivered meals

Additionally, Meals on Wheels is preparing for an increase in seniors requesting home-delivered meals. Anyone over the age of 60 is eligible to receive home-delivered meals through Meals on Wheels of Santa Cruz County, regardless of income level. A suggested donation of $2.50 per meal is requested, but no senior will be denied if they do not have the ability to pay.
